PCBL made known a desire to obtain more locally produced Pacific programs for it’s channel, Pasifika TV. They needed a bespoke solution to bring this content back from the Pacific Islands to New Zealand, for storage, rebroadcast and distribution to Pacific peoples. This is now known as the Pacific Contribution Hub or PACHUB.
In creating the PACHUB we were responsible for:
- Consultation with key stakeholders
- Establishing business objectives and requirements
- Capture of programming, operational, technical and space requirements
Developing a high-level design - Use of industry relationships to obtain proposals and budgetary pricing for television systems and services
- Developing a project schedule and key milestones
- Delivery of our findings in The PACIFIC CONTRIBUTION HUB Report
The PACHUB connects 9 Pacific nations and on average delivers more than 3,600 hours of content to New Zealand and the Pacific each year. Most recently it was used to deliver the Solomon Islands 2023 Pacific Games, distributing between 50-90 hours of live content per day for 2 weeks, across 9 simultaneous broadcast distribution channels.
